Three-star Canadian product Jabari Craig is in school at East Carolina after committing to Coach Jeff Lebo earlier this month and qualifying for admission in the fall semester. The late addition of the 6-11, 235-pound transfer from Pearl River (MS) Community College finishes a major transformation for the Pirates in the post. His presence along with that of 7-foot Wake Forest graduate transfer Andre Washington addresses a glaring weakness that became apparent last season as ECU’s relatively small lineup often struggled against the big men that proliferate in the American Athletic Conference.
Craig was a blue-chip target out of high school, signing with Southern Cal after fielding offers from a number of prominent programs. After failing to qualify he landed at Pearl River, where he remained in the eyes of recruiters as one of the top center prospects in the junior college ranks.
