Biletnikoff Award selection process strains credibility
onGreat points here, I remember when we had all the same issues for Dad, Robert, during the Peach Bowl season. I've recently confined my viewing pleasure to watching the Pirates play, college football outside of that has lost all credibility. Keep up the good work.

onReally happy that we are getting some good recruits. I especially hope that we can recruit the players to help out on the defense and offensive line. It appears that Army and Temple were able to control a lot of the triple option. My prayer is that we can have solid "O" and "D" lines.
Reply to this comment on Being ESPN / Money Conference have a monopoly I think the US government should ask why state universities are not spreading the money and opportunity fairly? If you have some time look how US government went after FIFA the world largest sports organization and won. The same needs to happen with Division 1 College football.

onGood assessment of where the program is. My man right now is Jeff Lebo. We have right now the most talented team I've seen in my nearly 40 years of following the Pirates. Middle of the season is next, then a strong finish and there will be no doubt in the direction of the program. Go Pirates!
Reply to this comment on Gene, thank you for the heads up. The article has been corrected. ... As you indicated, Coach McGee left the Pirates to take over as head coach at his alma mater. In was in later years that he became AD at South Carolina.
Reply to this comment on Mike Mckee left (good thing that he did!) after one year and went to Duke to coach.

onJust read about Western Michigan. They hired a wide receiver coach from Tampa Bay four years ago. Before that, he was a receiver coach with few college teams. Sound familiar. He went 1-11, 8-4, 7-5 and this year 12-0 and ranked 19th. Mo will get it done. He just has to recruit better than Ruff and Skip. 80 something does not seem to work.

onSOUNDS LIKE A VERY GOOD SUMMARY OF PROBLEMS AND THINGS THAT NEED FIXING. IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING, I BELIEVE THAT OUR OFFENSE WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN MANY OF THE GAMES THAT WE PLAYED HAD WE HAD ANY MEASURE OF DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS. IF I RECALL CORRECTLY, THE TWO YEARS THAT WE WON CUSA CONFERENCE TITLES, IT WAS WHEN WE HAD SO-SO OFFENSE AND A GREAT DEFENSE. HOPING THINGS GET TURNED AROUND. GGOOO......PPIRATES!!!
Reply to this comment on Happy to see our basketball team getting off to a good start. We have a good coach and some good players - I wish them luck during the season. GGOOO....PPiRATES!!!
Reply to this comment on Good article Brian. Spot on. " Mo" has a lot of work to do and needs to get busy pulling that rabbitt out of the purple/gold hat.

onI was hoping for a miracle and it would probably have taken one for us to beat Temple, but I can recall us pulling out miracles in years past. I am glad that we can put this season behind us and get ready for next year. God bless our team and coaches and may he be with us next season. GGOOO....PPIRATES!!!

Beat State, Carolina, Duke, and Wake Forest in the same season...then we'll talk.
Reply to this comment on You are so right John. The power five and large college programs are all about the money. It has gotten so stupid. It used to be a conference was about local rivalry and close proximity to other schools. The big schools are killing college football in the pursuit of TV revenue. Noticed how many empty football stadiums there are on television? I personally do not have a lot of faith in the future of college football. It was far better twenty years ago.
Reply to this comment on No such thing as power 5 just money five and the AAC is better than the PAC 12, B12, and just as good as the ACC. Something needs to change ASAP
