GREENVILLE —  East Carolina claimed its fourth straight Keith LeClair Classic championship with a 4-3 win over Maryland on Sunday.

The Pirates and Terps each finished 2-1 in the 13th annual event with ECU claiming the title by virtue of Sunday's head-to-head result.

Southeastern Louisiana enabled the winning scenario by nipping Tennessee 5-4 earlier Sunday. The Lions and Vols each went 1-2 for the weekend.

The Pirates scored the winning run in the eighth after Eric Tyler singled and Wes Phillips bunted to move Tyler to second.

Dwanya Williams-Sutton doubled down the right field line for a 4-3 ECU lead.

Joe Ingle (2-1) pitched the final three and two-thirds innings with a career-high nine strikeouts to get the win.

Maryland (5-5) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth. Kevin Smith's solo home run with two out put the Terps ahead 1-0. Madison Nickens walked and went to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a single by Nick Dunn.

That completed Jimmy Boyd's day on the mound. Boyd allowed four hits over four and two-thirds innings, yielding two earned runs while walking two and striking out four.

Nick Durazo recorded an inning-ending strikeout to strand two Terps.

The Pirates (8-3) tied the score at 2 in the sixth as a double by Travis Watkins was followed by Tyler's homer to left. Maryland pulled starter Brian Shaffer after the blast by Tyler, his first round tripper of the year.

Turner Brown and Parker Lamm had hits in the seventh before Brown came in for a 3-2 ECU lead on a throwing error by the Terps on an attempted double play.

Mickens reached base in the eighth on a wild pitch third strike. Dunn's RBI double tied the score at 3.

Charlie Yorgen had two hits with a double as the Pirates held a 10-9 edge in hits.

Ryan Selmer (1-1) took the loss for Maryland. Dunn had two hits and two RBIs for the Terps.

The Pirates host George Mason (2-8) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Jameson Fisher hit a solo home run to right field with two out in the top of the ninth inning to lift Southeastern Louisiana (6-5) to a 5-4 win over Tennessee (7-3) in Sunday's first game at Clark-LeClair Stadium. The Lions had seen a 4-0 lead after two innings dissolve as the Volunteers scored three times in the fourth and once in the sixth. Kade Granier (1-0) worked the last three and one-third innings to get the win for Southeastern Louisiana.
