Harman went to second on the miscue and took third when Travis Watkins singled through the left side. A fielder's choice by Garrett Brooks that retired Watkins at second allowed Harman to come home.

Watkins went 2-for-4 as the Pirates collected nine hits, all singles.

ECU (8-5) outhit the Hawks (0-8) by a 15-3 margin in the second game.

Reid Love led off the bottom of the first frame with a home run to left field to set the tone. Tyler and Harman followed with singles before Travis Watkins singled to score Tyler. Jackson Mims and Charlie Yorgen had RBI singles. Brooks drove in two runs with a single to center field.

Tyler doubled in the second inning and scored on a hit by Harman for a 7-0 lead.
