Offensive Package, New Defensive
Schemes Get Attention From ECU Media Relations
GREENVILLE The Pirate football team got back to business on Tuesday in
the first day of spring practice at East Carolina University.
Head coach Steve Logan's squad took advantage of a sunny, mild afternoon
and spent more than three hours on the practice field. The session was the
first of 15 off-season practice days which will conclude in March.
"It was very enthusiastic with a lot of carry-over," Logan said. "We
plugged in a good portion of the offense and some very new schemes on the
defensive side of the ball. There's a lot of learning. We will use these
first two days for a lot of teaching and, because of that, it was a very,
very long practice."
The Pirates will take Wednesday off and return for another helmets-only
practice on Thursday. The team will don full pads for Friday and Saturday's
sessions.
