Event coincides with ECU's home
baseball date with USF
GREENVILLE — Music, games, food, and fireworks will be included among
festivities planned for East Carolina University's Second Annual Great
Spring Tailgate, sponsored by US Cellular, on Saturday, April 20.
The festival, scheduled in conjunction with the East Carolina versus
South Florida baseball game, will begin at 4 p.m. in the Harrington
Field area of the ECU campus.
Advance reservations are required. Fans may purchase tickets by calling 252-328-4530.
The deadline for
ordering is Wednesday, April 17.
The afternoon of fun will include barbecue plates from Abrams
Barbecue of Tarboro, games and events for children, and a special
birthday party for Pee Dee the Pirate, complete with cake and goody bags
for kids. Steve Hardy's Original Beach Party will provide entertainment
with the Dixie Riders Band beginning at 4 p.m.
First pitch of the ECU-South Florida baseball game, which will be
televised locally by WITN-TV, is slated for 8 p.m. A fireworks show will
follow the game.
Tickets for the event are $10 per person, which includes a barbecue
dinner and a ticket to the baseball game. Meal tickets alone are priced
at $7.
