The dates and sites of Conference USA's 2002-03 championships have
been awarded, the conference office announced Friday, following its
annual Spring Meetings in Destin, FL.
The league�s 15 championships in the upcoming year will be hosted by
a total of 10 different schools, with Charlotte, Houston, South Florida
and Tulane each hosting two championships.
DePaul will serve as the host for the 2002 Healthy Choice Volleyball
Tournament (Nov. 22-25). For the first time in league history, the
championship match will be held on a Monday evening.
The 2003 Women�s Basketball Tournament will be held from March 6-9 at
the Pyramid in downtown Memphis, a building that has twice hosted the
C-USA Men�s Tournament.
Louisville will host the 2003 Men�s Basketball Tournament, the second
time in three years that Freedom Hall has served as the venue for that
event.
Baseball returns to Zephyr Field in suburban New Orleans for the
third time. The tournament will also return to its familiar Wednesday
through Sunday format.
For the first time, Men�s and Women�s Golf will be held in
conjunction with each other. Both tournaments will be hosted by South
Florida, running from April 21-23.
The only Conference USA Championship not hosted by a league
institution is Women�s Swimming and Diving, which is hosted by the
league office. For the second year in a row, that championship will take
place at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
