MEMPHIS — Memphis tailback DeAngelo
Williams will return for his senior season instead of entering the NFL
draft.
The two-time Conference USA offensive
player of the year announced his decision Friday.
Williams, a third-team All-American,
ran for 1,948 yards on 313 carries and scored 22 touchdowns in 2004.
He led the Tigers to an 8-4 season and
a bid to the GMAC Bowl. It was the first time in school history that Memphis
has been to back-to-back bowls.
A 5-foot-10, 217-pounder, Williams is
the school's career leader in rushing.
