WNCT-TV 9 Sports Director and Bonesville columnist Brian Bailey was on hand at the Pitt-Greenville Airport when East Carolina's record-setting basketball team arrived at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on an overnight charter flight from Ogden, Utah.

Bailey was able to capture a number of candid still frames as about 200 Pirate Nation partisans welcomed the champions home from capturing a dramatic road victory over Weber State for the 2013 CIT championship.

The Pirates were moved by the fans' middle-of-the-night greeting and the pride was evident all the way around in the smiles and gestures of Coach Jeff Lebo, his players and the fans.

A selection of Bailey's images is presented in the slide show gallery below.
