Back to square one at QB |
COLUMBIA,
SC
— There is at least one
silver lining in East
Carolina’s 48-10 blowout
loss to South Carolina
Saturday. Of the ten
remaining opponents on
the Pirates’ schedule,
there isn’t anyone that
rivals the Gamecocks’
talent. If there was
ever any doubt about the
speed and depth of a
Southeastern Conference
contender, it was erased
by a South Carolina team
that dominated from
start to finish. ...

Pirates get their kicks |
COLUMBIA,
SC
— In a 48-10 loss at No.
9 South Carolina on
Saturday, East
Carolina's struggles
seemed to greatly
outnumber its
highlights, but Pirates
punter Trent Tignor
continued to be a
positive factor with his
booming boots. Five ECU
possessions were
short-circuited by
turnovers but when the
Pirates stalled and
Tignor came in to do his
thing, the junior from
the Atlanta area had a
46.4-yard average on
five punts with a
longest of 53 yards. ...
