<View
Bonesville columnist Denny O'Brien's ballot in the Harris Poll.>
This week's Harris Interactive
College Football Poll™ rankings, the first for the 2007 college
football season, show the Top 25 results compiled from rankings
submitted by the Harris Interactive panel of former coaches,
players and administrators, and current and former members of
the media. The Harris Poll, commissioned by the Bowl
Championship Series, is a component in the BCS Standings Formula
used to determine the two teams that will play in the BCS
National Championship game and those that qualify for at-large
selection to other BCS bowls. The BCS formula for the 2007
season incorporates the Harris Poll, the USA Today Coaches Poll,
and an average of six computer rankings. The first BCS standings
will be released on October 14.
