Rainy weather forced the
suspension of the second game of Friday's doubleheader between East
Carolina and UCLA. The Bruins won the opener 10-9 (Box Score)
and were leading the second contest 5-3 after 5 innings when play was
halted. ECU said in a release that the game will resume at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday.
Weather permitting, game
three of the series will follow approximately 30 minutes after the
conclusion of the suspended game, ECU officials announced Saturday
morning.
The teams were originally slated to play a game each day on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. The approaching inclement weather prompted officials on Thursday
to rearrange the series to two games on Friday with the
completion of the three-game set to be determined based on weather
conditions.
ECU's Thursday
announcement
indicated that individuals that purchased a Saturday or Sunday ticket
may: exchange it for a Friday ticket; use it for the third game in the
series; or exchange it for a ticket to a game later in the season,
excluding the N.C. State and North Carolina games.
