Pirates Move Up in
BaseballAmerica Poll

East Carolina, unbeaten through seven games, advanced
two spots to No. 23 in this week's BaseballAmerica poll. The
Pirates, who were not ranked by the publication in the preseason, broke
into the poll a week ago at No. 25.
Other Carolinas teams in the rankings are No. 2 Clemson
(3-0), No. 5 South Carolina (9-0) and No. 18 Wake Forest (7-1).
Tulane (7-3), a Conference USA member along with ECU,
slipped a notch from No. 14 to No. 15 after winning two games while
losing two during the week.
Houston, another C-USA member, made its debut in the
rankings at No. 25. The Cougars (6-4) captured two wins in a three-game
weekend series against No. 9 Louisiana State.
