Dye Acclaimed

Former East Carolina coach Pat Dye was honored Saturday by Auburn, which named its stadium's football field for him for the successful legacy he carved as coach of the Tigers (1981-92). Dye, who led Auburn to three SEC titles, watches with the Tiger mascot a video tribute to his career before the start of the Iron Bowl against Alabama, which Auburn won 28-18. A 2005 selection to the College Football Hall of Fame, Dye compiled a 48-18-1 record as ECU's head coach (1974-79). He was voted into East Carolina's Hall of Fame earlier this year. (Photo: AP)
