September is shaping up to be a fruitful month in more ways than one for the East Carolina football program. Not only have the Pirates notched a pair of impressive victories to start the season, they are also adding notable successes on the recruiting front.
Columbia (SC) Ridge View High School star Latheron Rogers-Anderson has mapped out a path to play college football for the Pirates after visiting Greenville last weekend. The three-star safety’s commitment, along with a verbal last week from Newnan (GA) High School defensive back Delvonte “Tez” Harris, brings the total number of known pledges to ECU’s recruiting class of 2017 to 17.
Rogers-Anderson, one of the Palmetto State’s top prospects, was recruited by ECU defensive line coach Deke Adams. Rogers-Anderson and Adams established a recruiting relationship last season when Adams was defensive line coach at South Carolina.
This week, instead of Rogers-Anderson visiting Greenville, the Pirates’ will be visiting his hometown as ECU travels to Columbia for a Saturday matchup with the Gamecocks.
