Varner at three-under in Wells Fargo

CHARLOTTE — Former East
Carolina golfer Harold Varner III birdied all four of the par fives at
Quail Hollow on Friday after a bogey on the 483-yard par four fourth
hole as he shot 69 for the second round.
Varner opened with a par 72
on Thursday and is tied for 13th at three-under 141 in the Wells Fargo
Championship.
American Andrew Loupe
followed a 65 with a 71 and is atop the leaderboard at 136, eight under
par.
The course is playing 7,575
yards.
The event has a purse of
$7,300,000.
