Cris Perez had a run-scoring single for Duke that tied the score at 2 in the top of the fifth.

Kirk Morgan, who drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth in a 6-5 win over N.C. State on Tuesday night, started and went four innings for ECU. Morgan allowed six hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out two.

David Lucroy pitched the sixth, seventh and eighth for the Pirates. He yielded one hit and no runs, walking one and whiffing three.

Peter Zyla had three of the Blue Devils' 10 hits. Mike Rosenfeld and Perez each had two hits in the setback.

The Pirates pushed their lead in the series to 34-13 with their 13th straight win over Duke. The teams hadn't met since 2007.
