KINGSTON, RI — East Carolina withstood a UNC-Asheville comeback to finish the NIT Tipoff Tournament with an 81-70 consolation win over the Bulldogs in the University of Rhode Island's Thomas M. Ryan Center on Tuesday evening.

A 20-point effort from Paris Roberts-Campbell led five Pirates into double-figure scoring as ECU improved to 6-1 going into a 5 p.m. home game with UNC-Wilmington (4-4) on Sunday (WITN-TV).

Coincidentally, Seahawks coach Buzz Peterson added former UNCA coach Eddie Biedenbach to his staff during this past offseason.

ECU dropped nine of 12 free throws over the last 1:11.
