William & Mary jumped out to a first-inning
lead and applied offensive pressure from start to finish in a 10-4 rout of
East Carolina Tuesday afternoon at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
The Tribe out-hit ECU 19-7 and easily won its
seventh straight game while adding another layer of misery to the Pirates'
struggles of late. ECU, which fell to 11-14, has lost its last six games and
nine of its last 11.
William & Mary improved to 17-8.
The Pirates will bus to
Elon today for a 4 p.m. contest with the Phoenix. The game was moved to
an earlier start from the originally-scheduled 6 p.m. time due to cold
weather concerns.
