Charlotte has announced that three games have been added to its television schedule, including a pair that will be nationally televised. Game time changes have been made for each of the contests.

The 49ers' game at Cincinnati on Jan. 19 will be televised on ESPN2. The game time has been changed to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time to accommodate the broadcast.

ESPN Classic, through its relationship with Conference USA, will be televising a College Basketball "Game of the Week" on Wednesdays. The 49ers home game vs. Texas Christian on Jan. 26 has been selected as one of the games. The game time for that contest has been moved to 8:00 p.m.

C-SET, the 49ers' local television carrier, has confirmed that it will produce and broadcast Charlotte's game at Saint Louis on Feb. 12. That game time has been moved to 8:30 p.m.

The additions to the 49ers' TV lineup mean that 11 of the team's 16 remaining conference games will be televised in the Charlotte market.

Cincy declares Laurinburg freshman ineligible

Cincinnati freshman basketball player Vincent Banks has been ruled academically ineligible for the 2004-05 season for failing to meet initial eligibility requirements, the university announced last week.

Banks, a 6-2 guard from Atlanta, was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Georgia in 2003 after averaging 31.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game at South High School.

Last season, Banks was the leading scorer (23.0 ppg) for high school power Laurinburg (N.C.) Prep while leading his team to a 29-4 record.

Banks is currently enrolled in classes at Cincinnati.

Memphis loosens grip on seating areas

Beginning with Saturday's game against Southern Miss, the University of Memphis and the FedEx Forum were to begin allowing fans more flexibility in moving around within seating sections before each game and during halftime.

The new policy, announced last week by the Tigers athletic department, permits ticket holders in the lower and club levels to move around within the two levels and allows fans with upper level tickets to move around their level during the designated times.

The announcement noted that the change was made "in order to encourage camaraderie among Tiger fans."
