Bulls scuttle Bucs

Led by junior guard Jesus
Verdejo's 20 points, all five of South Florida's starters scored in
double figures as the Bulls defeated East Carolina 81-67 Saturday night
at the Sun Dome in Tampa.
Senior center Kentrell
Gransberry recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds for USF (3-3), while
freshman forward Orane Chin had 17 points, sophomore guard Chris Howard
added 12 and freshman guard Dominique Jones contributed 11.
Junior guard Sam Hinnant
tallied a game-high 25 points and sophomore forward Gabe Blair scored 14
for East Carolina (2-3). Hinnant's offensive outburst came on 8-13
shooting from the floor — including 6-10 from behind the arc — and 3-4
free throw attempts.
All six of Hinnant's
three-pointers came in the first half, which ended with the Bulls
clinging to a 39-36 lead.
ECU returns home to face
Winthrop on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
