GREENVILLE — East Carolina stopped a seven-game losing streak with a 10-2 win over regional rival UNC-Wilmington at Clark-LeClair Stadium on Tuesday night.
Luke Bolka had a three-run homer to left to set the tone as the Pirates (19-15) scored four times in the bottom of first and led the rest of the way.

ECU added a run in the fourth after a leadoff double by Wesley Phillips. Bryce Harman walked and Eric Tyler had a single to load the bases. Phillips scored to put the Pirates ahead 5-0 on a fielder’s choice to short by Charlie Yorgen that retired Tyler at second.
Turner Brown walked and stole second to start a five-run fifth for ECU. Bolka walked before a sacrifice bunt by T.J. Riles allowed the runners to move to second and third. Harman drove in two runs with a single for a 7-1 Pirates lead. Tyler had a run-scoring double, Yorgen singled in a run and Travis Watkins had an RBI single as ECU pushed the margin to 10-1.

Phillips and Tyler each had two hits as the Pirates outhit the Seahawks, 12-4. Yorgen had two RBIs.
Senior right-hander Kirk Morgan (1-0) started and went four and two-thirds innings for ECU. He allowed two hits and one run, earned, while walking one and striking out three.

Matt Bridges held the Seahawks (13-18) hitless and scoreless for one and one-third. West Covington had a hitless, scoreless span of two innings.
Joe Ingle yielded two hits and an earned run in the ninth.

A crowd of 3,817 saw East Carolina post its first win since topping Liberty 8-6 in Greenville on March 28.
The Pirates start a three-game American Athletic Conference series at home against Central Florida on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
